Claudia Canessa
Bio
Claudia is a 23 year old Music Technology and Popular Music graduate originally from Portsmouth, from the University of Wolverhampton.
She is a diverse musician, performing alto and tenor saxophone, currently performing in the West Midlands area and her home county of Hampshire. She is also a music producer and composer of contemporary music, who is comfortable using musical software (Logic) to produce music or writing her own saxophone arrangements.
Her musical styles and her performance experience covers a wide range of genres including reggae, ska, jazz, soul and funk.
Claudia is currently the saxophonist for Birmingham-based ska/reggae band The Beat GB which features Micky Billingham, a keyboardist and previous member of Dexy's Midnight Runners and The General Public.
Claudia also teaches children beginner saxophone across the West Midlands.
The Beat GB also includes professional musicians with a wide range of professional experience. Claudia has performed with The Beat GB at various locations across the country.
Starting her performing musical career at the age of 16, in the University of Portsmouth Wind Band, as the youngest member ever to perform, Claudia has gained experience working with orchestras and live bands and as a solo performer at musical events and weddings over the past six years.
